Communication is widely defined as a process whereby information is enclosed in a package and is channeled and imparted by a sender via some medium. All forms of communication require a sender, a message, and an intended recipient; however the recipient does not need to be aware of the sender’s intent to communicate.
At the recipient’s end the messages are decoded and meaning is assigned and conveyed in an attempt to create shared understanding through communication. This process requires a vast repertoire of skills in interpersonal processing, listening, observing, speaking, questioning, analyzing, gestures and evaluating.
